Requiring health plans to adopt policies ensuring nondiscrimination among qualified licensed providers enhances patients' access to care and reduces the cost per service provided. We can achieve this goal by requesting Members of Congress to include non-discrimination language in health reform legislation to prohibit plans from discriminating against qualified licensed health care providers, including CRNAs.  This language would also encourage the utilization of providers such as CRNAs to their full scope of practice under state law.
