AOTA's Virtual Hill Day
Advocate for OT!!!
AOTA's Virtual Hill Day ... it's not too late to Take Action!
AOTA's Board of Directors were recently on Capitol Hill advocating for OT. Support their committment by joining their advocacy efforts and taking part in Virtual Hill Day. E-mail and call your Members of Congress (1 Representative and 2 Senators) and make sure you support your leaders who travelled to Washington to represent OT.
Regardless of your personal position on the current health care reform debate, it is critical to advocate on behalf of OT to be assured that people have improved access to occupational therapy as a result of the health reform process no matter what form it finally takes.
In recognition of the importance of the health reform debate this year we will be addressing the following 2 OT specific issues in the context of Health Reform and we urge you to utilize the additional resources below to get informed and to contact your Members of Congress using the Take Action link.
A form letter is provided but feel free to use the other materials and your experience to customize the letter; or better yet send more than one! We urge you to utilize AOTA's Federal Advocacy Resources to assist in crafting an individualized letter.
You can also use the Legislative Action Center's Find Elected Officials Page and then Call the Capitol Switchboard at (202)224-3121 and ask for you Member's office. Basic talking points are also availble on the Take Action page; just click on speaking points.
